The new trapezius muscle relief pad (TEP) was developed by the dressage instructor Eberhard Weiß and brought to market readiness together with Passier. The TEP differs from conventional pads in that it has two cutouts in the sensitive, rear part of the trapezius muscle. The oval recesses have been proven to relieve pressure: the horse can breathe more freely and snort better. The pad also promotes back activity, relaxation and muscle building and can also be used as a preventive measure against saddle tension. The TEP was tested by the renowned Graf Lehndorff Institute for Equine Sciences at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna and found its effect to be clearly positive. The studies showed that the use of the pad in all gaits leads to relaxation and increased looseness in the horse and has a very positive effect on the horse's well-being and performance. Highly successful riders such as Ingrid Klimke, Hubertus Schmidt and Marcus and Johannes Ehning now also use the TEP every day. The TEP is placed between the saddle and the saddle pad/saddle blanket.
