Description

The Cavallo Care shoe polish is specially tailored to the care of our leather items such as riding boots, ankle boots and chaps.

The nourishing oils prevent drying out and maintain the natural shine and suppleness of good boot leather.

The Cavallo leather cream contains valuable nourishing oils and nourishing substances. This recipe from Collonil enables mild cleaning, makes the leather shine again and offers good moisture protection. With a practical applicator on the top.

What is the best way to clean leather riding boots, ankle boots and chaps?

  • Wash off heavy external dirt (e.g. dirt, mud) with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, then dry with a soft cotton cloth. Do not use hard brushes (e.g. root brush). Saddle soap is absolutely taboo! It leaches the leather and makes it brittle. Saddle leather and boot leather have different PH values and are not comparable.
  • Horse sweat, damp manure, manure, etc. are very aggressive and leach out the leather. The lifespan of the boot is significantly shortened. Therefore, remove it immediately with a damp cloth, otherwise the leather will harden and become brittle after a while.
  • Any zippers should be cleaned regularly with a small brush to ensure they run smoothly.
  • After normal cleaning, the zipper is given special protective protection by treating it with zipper spray.
  • For boots/chaps with adhesive leather, do not treat the trim with care products, otherwise the adhesion may be lost.
  • Patent leather uppers are cleaned conventionally and do not require any extra care.

Drying instructions

  • Depending on the degree of moisture, the leather boots need at least 24 hours to dry.
  • Do not dry near radiators or ovens, only store in a dry, airy place.
  • If dried improperly, too quickly and at too high a temperature, the leather becomes brittle and brittle, which shortens the lifespan of the boot.
  • For daily use, a second pair of riding boots is recommended to change.

Tips for proper care

  • Apply only suitable care products thinly and evenly to properly cleaned boots and polish with a wool cloth or nylon sock. Please also follow the instructions from the care product manufacturer. Never apply non-leather items such as shine spray, glass cleaner, hairspray or similar, as this will immediately damage the leather structure.

Good care ensures that the leather has a wonderful feel and is very comfortable to wear. Well-maintained boots and ankle boots are not only visually beautiful, but also long-lasting and valuable.
